Issy Perera, Apex Marine owner, is a long-time Miami resident and life long boating enthusiast having owned many boats and yachts through the years. Issy purchased his first Tiara in 1999 and then upgraded to a larger Tiara in 2003. He retired from the corporate world in 2007, after a successful business career in the Telecommunications and Utility Infrastructure sector. Issy was one of three founding executives that took a small privately owned Miami based company public and grew it into a $1 Billion Company in five years. With his passion for boating and realizing he missed the challenges of running a business, Issy decided to come out of retirement in May of 2009 and opened a Yacht Service facility in Ft Lauderdale.

Following in the footsteps of a prior career, he opened a second Yacht Service facility in Stuart, Florida in October of 2011, and a third Yacht Service facility was opened in April of 2014 in Pompano Beach. When the opportunity presented itself to diversify into the Yacht Sales business as a Tiara Yachts dealer, Issy jumped at the opportunity. In October of 2014 Apex Marine was awarded the Tiara Yachts dealership for Miami Dade and Monroe Counties. In August of 2016 another S2 Yachts brand was added to the portfolio when the Pursuit dealership for Miami Dade was awarded to Apex Marine.

Issy has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami, a Masters in Business Administration from Florida International University, and a Master of Science degree from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
